Two Types of Admission
Admission into the Pre-Professional Phase
Anyone who meets the Admission criteria for McNeese State University is accepted into the Pre-Professional Phase of the Program. Go to the McNeese web site for specific admission criteria.
Admission into the Professional Phase Admission into the professional phase of the program is on a selective basis due to the limited number of students approved for each clinical education setting. Students are admitted to the professional phase of the program once a year, the Spring Semester Sophomore year, and continue for 2 1/2 years. Application must be made no later than October 1 of the preceding Fall semester. Applications for the the professional phase are obtained through the Radiologic Technology Program office. In order to be considered for admission to the professional curriculum, the student must:
In cases where the number of qualified applicants for the professional phase exceeds the capacity, applicants will be accepted based upon highest GPA . Post certificate standing - The Radiologic Technology curriculum provides an opportunity for Registered Technologists to be added into the Baccalaureate degree program. Technologists registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists will be awarded 60 credit hours to be applied to the professional curriculum. In addition to the courses of the preprofessional phase, the registered technologist must also complete the following courses in the professional portion of the program: RADT 370, 462, 466, 467, 468, 470 or 471 and NURS 330. ( with no grade lower than "C" in radiologic technology and science courses). Currently 20 students are accepted each year for the professional phase of the curriculum. |
