![]() Upon completion of the requirements for a Degree in Chemistry, students receive the Chemistry Medallion at a special ceremony the evening before their graduation. This celebration is held in the presence of faculty, family, and friends in recognition of students' accomplishments and to express the pride that the faculty has in graduating these students. Words of congratulation are spoken by the Dean of the College of Science, the Head of the Department of Chemistry, and an Industrial Representative. Students are encourated to wear the Medallion as part of their traditional graduation attire.
This year, the celebration will be held on Friday, May 16, 2003 following the rehearsal for commencement (about 7:30 - 8:00pm) in the Chalkley Room located on the arena level adjacent to the area where students assemble prior to the graduation exercises. Parents and friends may come early and partake of food and refreshments while students are rehearsing.
