Professional Experience

She worked in the pharmaceutical industry from 1999-2003 involved in the synthesis, and scale up of pharmaceuticals and intermediates. During her tenure, she was employed by Catalytica/ DSM (1999-2001) in Greenville, NC as Senior Process Development Chemist and Albany Molecular Research as Senior Research Scientist I in New York. During this time she designed, developed, and implemented a number of successful processes and pharmaceutical routes to various API's and intermediates.

She is experienced in synthetic processes from bench to Kilo Lab scale, using cGMP practices. In her spare time she volunteered for the American Cancer Society and chaired the committee for the ACS Relay for Life at DSM. In 1999, she authored the theme for the Relay for Life (DSM) and won the prize given by the ACS for Most Creative Theme.

Earlier in her career (1994-1999) she worked as a Research Chemist for Hoechst Celanese/ DyStar in Coventry, Rhode Island, Frankfurt, Germany and Charlotte, NC. During this time, she was promoted to Senior Development Chemist and received her first patent. She volunteered and taught several workshops during the "Expand Your Horizons in Science Conference". The conference was sponsored by the American Association for University Women, RI businesses, and RI schools at the Newport Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, Rhode Island and was designed to enhance learning and understanding of science for young girls.
