The Perkin Elmer 5100 atomic absorption spectrometer is equipped with two atomizer modules for different types of non-flame analysis in addition to standard flame atomization. One is a 5100ZL zeeman furnace module with HGA 600 zeeman graphite furnace atomizer and AS70 autosampler for trace metal analysis; the other is a FIAS 200 hydride analyzer mercury and hydride-forming elements with a AS90 autosampler. Each module is computer selected and controlled. Atomic absorption spectrometry is capable of analyzing for over over seventy elements at the sub-ppm and ppb level. by Dr. Gerald Ramelow |
